Is this carrier OK for my babies hips?

From the very beginning, LÍLLÉbaby was designed to support a hip-friendly seat in every carrying position. We are thrilled to announce that the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI) has certified the LILLEbaby COMPLETE as a "hip-healthy" product according to their research and criteria.

The IHDI affirms that the LÍLLÉbaby COMPLETE carrier designs support the importance of healthy hip development during infancy, which is especially important during the early stages of hip development in the first few months after birth.

We are honored and grateful for the recognition - healthy, safe, supported and thriving babies have always been our very highest priority!

The COMPLETE™'s patent pending cup-shaped seat design accommodates an ergonomic wide-leg sitting position to facilitate healthy hip development in the forward-facing position. Baby’s legs are naturally spread apart and, equally important, baby can move them freely. Keep in mind that babies older than 6 months are past the hip dysplasia risk age, but the seat design still makes for a more comfortable ride.

An infant has weak and underdeveloped neck muscles and their neck/head must be supported at all times until they are at an age where they can strongly support their head. Up to that age, you must use the inward facing positions, i.e. baby facing the parent, with the neck and head supported at all times. Many babies have developed strong neck muscles around 4 months, but we generally advise to start the forward-facing position around 6 months as that is when you baby benefits from it the most.

LÍLLÉbaby offers forward facing as simply an option, not a requirement. As a parent, you make the choice on what is right for your child.
